I am able to create letters on Microsoft to communicate with students and parents.
Need – Why is there a need to develop in this area?
There is a need to develop in this area because being able to incorporate technology into learning
and/ or teaching can make a lesson more fun and interesting to students.
Goal
My goal is to be able to integrate technology into many of the lessons I teach. Also, I plan to use technology
to communicate with parents on a regular basis.
Short Term Plan – What will you do during this class.
My short term goal is to take numerous notes in this class, that will help me incorporate technology into my
lessons.
Long Term Plan – what you will do in the next year.
I plan to make lessons that include technology and to also have a website that parents can use to assess information
about the class and what we are doing each week.
Assessment – How will you know that you did it?
I will know that I have achieved my goal when I teach a lesson using technology that my students enjoy. Also,
when I visit my own website and see how helpful it is to parents.
I believe I have met my short term goals through numerous ways. For example, did I not onlny take good notes but I also developed lessons using various types of technologies. Because of this course I now feel comfortable using technology in my classroom to teach lessons.
I would change my long-term goals because through this course I was able to achieve my pervious long-term goals. For instnace, I not only made lessons that included technology but I also created a wiki space. One page on the website is dedicated to parents, it includes a classroom calendar as well as resources for the parents. My wiki also has a page, in whihc parents and students must work together to complete the assignment. Furthermore, if I had to change my long -term goals, I would say, I plan to use technology in my lesson plans atleast once a day. Now I feel comfortable using technology on a regular basis, where as before this course I was not comfortbale with technology at all.
